After listening to concerns for the weather this weekend and consulting with the National Weather Service on the three individual Winter Weather Events expected to come to our area over the next few days, we have made the following decisions regarding upcoming events:
- The Sweetheart Movie Night, previously scheduled for Saturday, February 13, will be rescheduled to a future date.
- Family Sunday Funday, previously scheduled for Sunday, February 14, will be rescheduled to the following Sunday, February 21, from Noon to 3:00 PM. Registrations are still accepted at whartonfumc.org/register.
- Worship will be held as scheduled on Sunday morning at 10:30 AM, with the sanctuary open for in-person worship and livestreamed through Facebook & YouTube.
- Due to extreme concerns with winter weather, the church office and Small Blessings will be closed Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday of this week.
- A decision regarding our Ash Wednesday service will be made on Wednesday afternoon once weather for the evening can be better determined. If we are unable to hold the service in our sanctuary, then an Ash Wednesday Service will be live-streamed by Pastor Steven & Pastor Becca from the parsonage and stored on our website, our Facebook page, and our YouTube channel so those without power or internet can worship when convenient.
- Tuesday afternoon's drive-thru farewell for Doc & Pat Blakely has had to be canceled for outdoor safety reasons. However, we have been able to reschedule with them for Tuesday, February 23 from Noon to 2:00 PM. The church will accept cards, messages, or gifts and deliver them to Doc & Pat.
Please stay posted, as this page will be updated as any new information is received.
