Advent Worship
We continue to worship in-person each Sunday morning at 10:30 AM in our sanctuary.
You can find our live broadcast on our facebook page and our youtube channel. In addition, the videos are archived in the media section of our website.
Worship bulletins are provided electronically, sent out by text message every Sunday morning at 8:00 AM. To receive the bulletin, simply send the text "Bulletin" to 979-500-1700. In case you do not get subscribed in time, each Sunday's digital bulletin is also posted as a link on our facebook page, sent out via twitter, and available at whartonfumc.org/bulletin at 8:00 AM for that day's worship service.
Advent Bags
Advent Bags are back by popular demand! Although we are able to gather together throughout the Advent season this year, we want to help everyone take their Advent practices out of the sanctuary and right into their homes! These bags include many resources to assist in preparing for Christmas, no matter your age or stage! There are activities for children, youth, & adults. Each bag includes the materials needed to assemble your own Advent Wreath at home so you can light your candles along with online worship on Sunday mornings or light them as a family in the evenings. There are communion elements for the Sundays of Advent as well as Christmas Eve. These activities will guide you, and your family, week by week through regular (and fun) practices that can help you connect more fully to the season and prepare to celebrate again the coming of Christ. If you attend worship in-person on Sunday mornings, you can pick up your bag after worship. If not, you can pick it up at the church office any time during office hours. You can also arrange to have it delivered by calling the church office at 979-532-1100 or emailing whartonfumc@whartonfumc.org.
4-Week Advent Study
Our Advent Study this year is based on All The Good: A Wesleyan Way of Christmas. You have your choice of three different times to participate. Pastor Steven will offer the study on Tuesdays at 2:00 PM and at 6:30 PM. Pastor Becca will offer a special family-friendly version of the study on Wednesday Nights during the Advent After Party, beginning at 6:00 PM.
Family Movie Night
We are featuring The Polar Express on Saturday, December 10 at 6:00 PM, although the parking lot opens at 4:00 PM for fun activities. This free event is our gift to the community and a chance for you to come and enjoy a great movie! Bring your own snacks and make yourself a cozy cup of hot chocolate at our hot chocolate bar. There will also be crafts and a special photo opportunity.Wear your favorite Christmas jammies and bring a comfy lawn chair, make a cozy nest in the bed/trunk of your vehicle, or just stay warm and snuggling inside your vehicle. We promise our screen is big enough for all to see and our sound system...well let's just say the neighbors enjoy the free show too 🙂 Can't wait to see you there! Email Pastor Becca at becca@whartonfumc.org for any questions.
Longest Night Service
At any given time there are people experiencing grief, sadness, and loss, but that can be especially difficult at Christmas. Throughout these many trying months, it would probably be difficult to find anyone who is not experiencing some sort of grief this year, even if it is grief at the loss of a sense of normalcy. Jesus was born into a world experiencing grief. In this especially difficult year, let us gather and recognize the presence of Christ.

Christmas Eve Service Especially for Children & Families
Children and families are welcome at any of our worship services, including the Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service. However, parents often find it helpful to have a service at Christmas especially for children and their families. We will have traditional Christmas songs, with instruments to help everyone get involved, plus even some games to help us remember the Christmas story! This service is both fun and meaningful for families with children of any age. We hope you will join us this year.
